These last few weeks has been a whirlwind of emotions anger, sadness and exhaustion. There is little in my control but one thing. One thing that I can provide, to some it’s immeasurable and that is a safe inclusive space. A space where we can come together as community, support each other, learn from each other and lean on each other. We are proud to be partnering with LGBT Network in Queens. Join us Thursday December 5th 6:30-8pm at The Queens LGBT Center 35-11 35th Ave, Astoria, NY. Kristin, Donna and I will be talking about gender affirming hair and finding inclusive spaces. We have had the privilege to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community since the day we opened in 2010. We have been vocal about services not being based on gender. It has made my heart sing year after year to see people find us coming not only from our community but neighboring states and even overseas. To see people leave our space with a glow because they felt heard, seen and closer to themselves that is GENDER EUPHORIA. In all honesty and has been one of the biggest factors in keeping these doors open. This safe space is more than four walls, it’s more than Kristin, Donna and Maria and I. We can promise you, we will continue to be here for you and our community beyond these 4 walls. In the upcoming weeks we will start a new tab for this site that will be LGBTQ+ based information not only for this community but global. Here we will have links for safe inclusive spaces and organizations. We will also go over terminology for gender affirming hair especially in barbering. Ways to navigate finding inclusive spaces because let’s be honest not all of us marginalized people are inclusive. To better help community please email us and share how you found us, other inclusive salon, spaces, community centers especially in red states and conservative countries tomahawksalon@gmail.com
Here are few links and we will continue to expand these
